Le Volte dell’ Ornellaia 2016. This Super-Tuscan stuff is something else that I’ve only discovered in the last few years. I bought around a dozen in 2019 at the recommendation of a friend when Majestic allowed me to stack several offers, bringing the price down to about £15. I remember little about the couple I have already drunk, and I’m finding it difficult to say much about this one. It’s perfectly fine,  but disappeared in a kind of whirl of cherry flavours and gentle oak without leaving a deep impression. Maybe I was in a bad mood. I usually am. I’ll try another in a couple of hundred miles.
