Brunier Mégaphone 2016 (again)
Following on from the recent Lagrange, I’m eating my words again – this time the less-than-enthusiastic comments about my penultimate bottle of 2016 Mégaphone posted some 50 days ago. Having said the fruit had all but gone and it was basically over the hill, this final bottle was right back on form. The fruit and acidity of the Grenache balanced the tannin nicely and I enjoyed it enormously. Once again I’m left wondering if the disappointment of the previous bottle was down to deficiencies in the wine or in my general frame of mind at the time. I’ll never know for certain, as it is now time to move on to the 2018s.
