Day 61 – Edinburgh
Virtual meeting no. 4 – TheDecameron.
But first, a stroll though the posher bits of the centre of Edinburgh (I always thought somewhere like Moray Place would be an ideal spot in which to spend my declining years – unfortunately I the amount of money I have means it would need to be in a tent on the pavement.

Day 56 – Forth Road Bridge
‘Many rivers to cross…’
…sang Jimmy Cliff, gloriously and affectingly. I wonder if he was inspired to write those lyrics while considering a virtual walk through Britain and looking at the map?

Day 56 – North Queensferry
World’s smallest lighthouse (with handy stove).
Literally in the shadow of the Forth Rail Bridge is the North Queensferry Light Tower, the smallest working lighthouse in the world at 6.5m high.

Day 52 – Methil
300 miles walked! That landmark came at the end of Harbour View, Methil. Bayview Stadium, home to East Fife FC, is just 150m down the road.

Day 50 – Elie
A busy day. First a virtual meeting with Dogberry from pink fish media. His suggested location was the Ship Inn at Elie.

Day 47 – Swilcan Bridge
A day walking round St Andrews. Through the town, past the Cathedral, then on to the harbour along The Pends singing ‘my baby’s got The Pends…’ quietly to myself as I walked.

Day 45 – Tay Road Bridge
Leaving Dundee, so a 2km walk above the Silvery Tay. The walkway/cycle path runs between the two dual carriageways, and is accessed by going up a level from the ground below.

A detour for Will…
My friend Will – who lives a few miles from me in Stratford – asked me to detour here and do a little research for some kind of book he is writing.

Day 15 – Inchindown
The Inchindown oil tanks…
I discovered the Inchindown oil tanks by chance on Google Maps. When I read the only review, which explained nothing but simply said “we were shown the tanks by Rick and his mate” I thought it was just a joke, albeit a funny one.
