Day 45 – Tay Road Bridge

Leaving Dundee, so a 2km walk above the Silvery Tay. The walkway/cycle path runs between the two dual carriageways, and is accessed by going up a level from the ground below.

    Day 43 – Invergowrie

Jeff Carrel Fitou la Tyre 2018. There’s a fair bit of Jeff Carrel hype among the bigger French online merchants. I fell for it about three years ago and bought a mixed dozen.

    Day 41 – Dunsinane

Le Pigeoulet 2017. I love this wine, made by the Bruniers of Vieux Télégraphe fame. It’s 80% Grenache with little bits of the other usual Rhone suspects thrown in and has a juicy, fresh, fruity feel.

    A detour for Will…

    Day 40 – Markethill

One of the hazards of wearing a longish beard is the number of folk who feel the need to point out your resemblance to another random bearded person in an amusing and original fashion.

    Day 36 – Finegand

JJ Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese 2017. A Christmas gift from a very generous friend a year ago. I hadn’t tasted a top-notch German Riesling in many years and had forgotten how good they are.

Allen Lowe – Blues and the Empirical Truth

I can’t remember exactly how my attention was drawn to this 3CD set a few weeks ago, but I read that Allen was a jazz/blues historian and archivist as well as sax player and composer/arranger, which in conjunction with the title definitely sounded interesting.

  • Day 34 – Newbigging

    Day 34 – Newbigging

Domaine de la Rossignole Sancerre 2018. Bought at the Lille Wine fair at the end of 2019 for 11€. Good quality, concentrated, flinty Sancerre with tastes of gooseberry and a little bit of licorice.
