    Chateau Musar 2001

I had wanted to open a special bottle to celebrate the 300-mile mark on the virtual walk The first available location was Kirkcaldy, and with respect to the town and its citizens the concrete sea-wall running the length of the Esplanade didn’t quite cut it somehow.

Domaine de Cabarrouy Ambre de Samonios 2015. I had never tried a Jurançon until a couple of years ago. I decided to buy a mixture from Domaine de Cabarrouy after reading positive reviews in the French wine press and because (shallow bastard that I am) I liked the label.

    Day 47 – Swilcan Bridge

A day walking round St Andrews. Through the town, past the Cathedral, then on to the harbour along The Pends singing ‘my baby’s got The Pends…’ quietly to myself as I walked.

    Day 45 – St Michaels

Triguedina Malbec du Clos Cahors 2018 – it seems to me that Malbecs on supermarket shelves are always several years younger than they should be, if the idea is to get the punters to buy a bottle to drink that night.
