Saint Cosme Côtes-du-Rhône 2018. I mentioned this earlier as a great value wine (this one cost me 9€ from a shop in Lille.) It’s been in the cellar for a couple of years and that has done it a lot of good. The tannins have softened considerably giving a much less rustic feel. A 100% Syrah CdR is a rare beast – especially from the south. It is interesting to compare it to the Deux Albion version, which is a more conventional varietal mix and a little more expensive. I’d give the latter the edge, but this one is just fine! Just be prepared to cellar any that you buy for a while to get the best out of them.
